On April 2, 1999, the first issue of the Precision Agriculture Journal will be published. This is the only academic journal exclusively devoted to site-specific management in agriculture.
For 2000, a new section called "New Developments in Precision Agriculture." has been opened. A significant number of papers were of value but did not qualify for publication in a scientific journal for different reasons. Often, there was a lack of supporting data, particularly in number of years or experiments. Other common reasons were very technical or loosely related topics. However, precision agriculture is changing quite rapidly, and, in my view, some indirectly related papers may be of importance to the readership. Papers submitted to this section should deal with new developments, of any type, but value to precision agriculture. The cover letter of papers submitted to Kluwer for this section should specify clearly that the paper is intended for the "New Developments in PA" section. Manuscripts should be limited to 12 pages. This new section will be limited to a few papers per issue. - Dr. Pierre C. Robert
